Summer Goals

This is probably the last summer where I can do whatever I please, so I'm actually going to make a list of summer goals. As I complete them, I will cross them off this post. This post mainly for me, but I thought I would share my summer to do list.

1. Volunteer/Get a job
2. Start a tumblr and draw cute comics to start
3. Practice with my tablet and play with Photoshop
4. Read a ton of novels on psychology/success/business
5. Start reading the news online (the business section)
6. Try to start a comic for TFDL or Rebirth (This is a huge maybe)

TFDL: Prelude Thoughts

I just realized that I never wrote a chapter dedicated to the end of TFDL: Prelude. I never really shared my thoughts and feelings after finishing the first book.

I think I had already started the document for book two, so there didn't seem to be a pause in writing. This piece originally was going to be a work that I kept to myself. I wasn't brave enough to share it online until a friend had encouraged me to do so. Funnily, TFDL: Prelude was the first story that I had released, but it wasn't the first that I had written. I actually had a romance-tragedy before this work. I just put that piece on hold for now.

I would love to write character analyses, but since this isn't the end of the series, I can't share them now. You'll have to be patient with me! I can share what I thought so far.

It was a challenge writing for five protagonists, but I wanted each boy to have his own story. I had considered creating separate stories for each boy. However, that would defeat the point in showing their close friendship. So, I chose to keep everything and everyone together.

My inspiration from this piece did come from the boys' friendship and then their stories started to develop on their own. You may have noticed that sometimes they are faced with similar situations, yet they deal with them very differently. That's why they're five different lovers! :)

I've had people ask me who my favourite character was. I honestly can't answer that question. Sometimes, I got frustrated with a few characters because I had trouble writing their scenes. My personality clashed with theirs sometimes. To tell you the truth, I often had the most trouble writing for Junsu. He and I are just too different and his situation was difficult to grasp. Who was generally the easiest for me to write? It would have to be Changmin or Yoochun. It's easy to be devilish and sarcastic for Changmin. It's also easy for Yoochun to share his insightful thoughts.

The female character who was really hard to write for would be Yoomi. She and I are quite different too and I wasn't sure how to portray her character at first. I was going to base her off of my friend, but things didn't turn out that way. This doesn't mean that I don't like her. I just had to work harder to write for her!

Conversely, Jihyun was the easiest for me to include. She and I are very similar, maybe even too much alike.  

As for my favourite couple . . . I can't answer that one yet! ;)

Although I had created a poll on soompi about this, I thought I would ask again for your favourite lover. I'm sure after finishing book one, you would have different opinions or . . . maybe not. Vote away!

Status Update 2 - New information (12/13/2010)

Hi,

Since I have updated all that needs to be done, I will provide the next update status. I have to say that I will be busier these days now that exams are coming fairly soon, so I will probably update later.

Rebirth

1. Fictionpress: I'm hoping to finish chapter 42 by December 11, but frankly, do not expect an update on that date. It seems rather too idealistic. What is more realistic would be December 18th.  So, I did finish by the 11th!! I most likely will not update on the 18th then. My next update will probably be on the 20th.

2. Soompi: I will update chapter 40 on December 7th and will upload chapter 41 on December 18th.

3. Booksie: I will update chapter 19 on December 5th and chapter 20 on December 7th. Most likely, chapter 21 will be revealed on December 18th.

TFDL

1. Soompi: The awaited finale, chapter 80.5, will be revealed on December 18th January 1st!! Then, I will close that topic and begin a new one for TFDL II. I have to warn you that TFDL II's update speed will be slower than TFDL I's. I have written the prologue for TFDL II, but other than that, I have not been able to write much for part two. I think I would need to edit TFDL I first and release the PDF before I can focus on the second part. I need some time to reread what I have done to make sure that what I have planned for TFDL II makes sense. (Sorry for the delay, but I realized that I needed to go over that last chapter again. I just feel that something is missing in that chapter, and I'm not sure what. To compensate, I'll probably release a short preview and probably open the new thread for TFDL II and also release its prologue and some bits of what are to come. Good news is that I have started to write for TFDL II again. I feel inspired again!)

2. Asianfanfics: I will update chapter 80.4 on December 17th. Chapter 80.5 on January 1st.

3. Fictionpress: I will slowly update that with the edited chapters.

*Important note: On this blog, I will share the edited chapters of TFDL. I will probably not change what I have on Soompi and Asianfanfics since I would have to reformat everything.  So, in a sense, the wait won't be too painful since there are "newer" versions of the old. Unfortunately though, these revised versions will probably be subjected to name changes. I think I have said this many times, but I thought I would just gently remind you that. 

Here are the names that I have decided so far:

1. Jung Yunho = Rhett Jung

2. Shim Changmin= Max Mizushima

3. Kim Junsu= Wesley Ramires

4. Kim Jaejoong= Jay Ellsworth

5. Park Yoochun = John Lambert

I know these name changes somewhat defeat the purpose of a fan fiction, but I have read on the online publishing terms that I cannot use the names of artists. Thus, I have to respect those in order to release a PDF. I will probably have a dedication page.

*Latest update on the PDF issue will be explained in a new post soon. I have had slight changes to my plan. Don't worry. It's better news!

Question 1

I thought it would be interesting to ask questions that I would love to be answered by my readers, so here I go with my first set. I will also give my responses. Fair right?

Rebirth:

1. Who is your favourite character so far and why?

So I tried answering this question, but I realized that if I revealed my two favourite characters, I might reveal some spoilers. I will definitely answer this question completely once I feel that my answer will be spoiler-free. I'll just say for now that they are Kuro and Cael. (I could not decide between these two!!)

TFDL:

1. Since it is nearing the end of book one, I would like to know what your favourite chapter or scene was and why?

I would say that Chapter 18: The Leader and the Queen of Spontaneity Prepare for Their Exam was my favourite one. This chapter shows that Jihyun and Yunho have finally set aside their differences and are trying to know each other's personalities. I always thought it would be interesting if people first learned about each other by asking questions to each other. It seems more efficient in some sense unless people think they know themselves but they actually don't. That happens quite frequently, believe it or not. I found that some people either like to say that they have certain traits or believe that they do. However, I then discovered that they weren't demonstrating what they claimed. 

This chapter also reveals Jihyun's weaker side. I am sure that you have noticed that Jihyun likes to pretend that everything is okay and is the sort to hide her emotions, so it is rather rare for her to show her vulnerability. Even she finds it odd for her to be accepting Yunho's hug. 

Yunho although ignorant or dense, still feels that he should comfort her. Even though he has claimed that he would be willing to give this relationship a try, he never actually accepted this idea until this chapter. He is finally able to open up to her as well.

Moreover, I always felt hugs were supposed to be more sentimental and I wanted to show that even a simple gesture could ease someone's insecurities. Of course, this gesture would have to be from the right person and well, would have to be natural.

Status Update 1 and The Reponse to my Rhetorial Question

Hello! It is a freezing, November December day, but I thought I would bring some warmth, as cheesy as it sounds, to counter the coldness by sharing my update progress.

*Update: I have decided to add my stories here, chapter by chapter for each story while people wait for the latest updates. I might also include some commentary below each chapter, which could range from my inspiration or any thoughts that I had during my writing process. 

Rebirth

1. Fictionpress: Chapter 41 should be up on December 1st. Why not welcome the new month huh? The portrait of Renelle and Ghislaine will be released on December 3rd on this blog.
2. Soompi: Chapter 39 should be up on December 1 or 2nd.
3. Booksie: Chapter 19 (technically 18) should be up on December 2nd. *I might have a mass release like per chapter uploads once I have my Christmas break. 

The Five Different Lovers (TFDL)

1. Soompi: Chapter 80.4 should be released on December 1st. I feel generous for some reason.
2. Asianfanfics: Chapter 80.3 should be up on December 1st. I might release 80.4 a day after, depending on my mood.
3. Fanfiction: Uploads are on hold. I am not determined enough to upload so many chapters.

I might consider posting my works here too. Some people may not like the format of forums or the idea of having to create other accounts. So, I guess posting my stories here would be for Gmail users or miscellaneous stumblers.

I will also release the link to the PDF file for part one of TFDL on this blog once I finish writing and editing.

Now, to answer my own question, why did I create so many accounts?

I wanted to try different websites to see what everything was like. Then, I thought it suddenly occurred to me that it would be interesting to connect other readers from other websites to form a sort of literary discussion. Plus, sometimes, I receive similar comments or questions and it would be easier if everyone could see my responses here.
