Chapter 53: The Mom Faces Reporters and the Aftermath of the Free Spirit’s Decision

Jaejoong had already decided where to take Kannei, except he hadn’t told her at all what he had intended to do. In fact, she had to ask, “Jaejoong . . . where are you going? I thought you knew where I lived . . .”
“Actually,” Jaejoong said while adjusting her seatbelt into a more comfortable position, “we’re going on a detour. You’re coming with me to a press conference.”
            “Wh-what?”

“Don’t worry,” he chuckled in between his words. “You won’t be facing them.”
            “Oh, that’s bett—“
“You’ll just be a part of them.”
“What?” Kannei shrieked, almost grabbing Jaejoong by his collar.
Jaejoong had to suppress his own laughter to the point where he was choking own his breath. Kannei had her arms folded, constantly sighing, but it was exactly these that made him laugh even harder. She was too cute, he thought. So, he blurted once he had parked the car, “You’re adorable, mochi.”
Before Kannei could even scream at him, he had tugged at her cheek and escaped out the door. Still, he remembered to open her side’s car door. As expected, she shot him a ferocious glare, to which he responded with a quick peck to her cheek. As expected, he had anticipated that she would become angrier, so he tugged her hand. He wasn’t afraid if there’d be paparazzi watching. He loved her, and he wanted the world to know that as well. In fact, he didn’t even notice Yumi until she tapped him on the shoulder.
“Congrats,” Yumi murmured. “You know, I think I have the perfect gift to celebrate the start of your relationship.”
There was a tender smile creeping from Yumi’s mouth. That sort of courteous smile was too affectionate for Jaejoong’s liking. Still, in public, he couldn’t show what he truly felt. He faked the same type of grin towards her. Even Kannei had squeezed his hand, which he knew was to tell him how cheesy he was. To ease Kannei’s mind, Jaejoong handed an identity card to her and whispered in her ear, “Take this, and join the reporters. I’ll get you when I’m done, okay?”
“Okay,” she muttered as Jaejoong placed another peck to her cheek.
With loving eyes, Jaejoong watched Kannei exit. Yumi, on the other hand, scoffed, “Aren’t you afraid that other people are going to see you and her? Don’t forget that you’re still in a scandal.”
Jaejoong just answered before leaving for the stage, “I don’t care. If anything happens to her, I’ll protect her.”
             “You’re too innocent, Jaejoong.”
Yumi’s scoff turned to a jolt of laughter. Truly, Jaejoong didn’t care what sort of advice anyone offered to him. He was already sitting almost at the centre of the stage, right beside Yumi. The reporters already had their notebooks, cameras, video cameras, and pens ready. There were flashes and flashes of light almost blinding him. Still, he was able to find Kannei. After all, she didn’t have any gear in her hands and wasn’t even dressed like a worker. With her there, he was at ease. He wasn’t afraid anymore for he wasn’t by himself now.
So, question after question, the reporters interrogated Yumi until she finally passed the microphone to Jaejoong. The question had been: “Are you in a relationship with Yumi?”
“No,” Jaejoong answered, “I already have a girlfriend who I love very much.”
“Then, why did you and Yumi kiss?” another reporter hollered.
This time, Yumi stole the mike and responded, “That was for a rehearsal for a new drama that he and I will be participating in. We were rehearsing a scene together.”
Immediately, Jaejoong glanced at her, but he stopped himself from shouting anything aloud. He allowed the same reporter to ask, “What drama is this and what roles do you two play?”
Yumi, again sporting a polite smile, told him, “This is a romantic comedy. I will be playing the lead female, while Jaejoong is playing the second lead. Actual filming hasn’t started yet, but we’ve been having actual rehearsals to get into our roles.”
“Then, this will be Jaejoong’s debut?”
            “Yes,” Yumi uttered.
“Why the sudden change, Jaejoong? According to our findings, you were . . . a makeup artist?”
Even that . . . Jaejoong couldn’t answer for himself. He hadn’t anticipated this to happen. He looked again to Yumi, who was still facing the reporters with such confidence that Jaejoong understood that she had planned all of this. For what purpose though? Why was it so important for him to be an actor now? His dream was . . . Had that even been his dream before?
Knowing that he couldn’t pause any longer, he just rambled, “People change.”
“Then, is it because you’d want to become closer to your supposed birth mother, Adalia Reynolds?” a bald reporter bolted.
Jaejoong took a bow, and apologized, “To answer your question, no, and I am sorry, I will not be answering anymore questions. If you have any more to ask, then please contact Yumi’s manager.”
As he walked down the stage, he was bombarded by hordes of eager reporters. Jaejoong had to push past the crowd to head for Kannei, who still remained in her seat. Then, he grabbed her hand and dragged her to his car. Questions and flashes were attacking him on their way, and even when he drove away, there were other cars following him.
“Jaejoong . . . tell me what the hell just happened,” Kannei urged while Jaejoong pressed for the accelerator.
Switching lanes, he explained, “You’re gonna be in the entertainment section tomorrow. Sorry. I didn’t know this would happen.”
“You could have just left me there,” she murmured.
“You were my only hope,” he stated. He shot her a glare, one that made her shudder before she grew quiet. When he parked the car at the top of a small hill, he finally said, “Sorry. I didn’t mean to get mad at you. I just . . .”
“Adalia Reynolds is, just like they suspected, your real birth mother, right?”
Kannei looked at him with such innocence that he felt extremely guilty. Somehow, he felt safe. She could understand how he felt and how much he had endured. At last, there was someone else’s shoulders to rest on, someone else’s ears to listen to his woes.
Choking on his sniffles, he confessed, “Yes, but she abandoned me for her career. Ha . . . she even said, ‘Why did I ever give birth to you? You’re nothing but an impediment.’ I was only five and I even . . . searched through an old, heavy dictionary just to learn what that meant.”
Jaejoong heard the rustling of plastic, and before long, there was a tissue pressed below his right eye. With his other eye, he saw Kannei staring at him forlornly.
“I’ll be here for you, Jaejoong,” Kannei declared.
“Promise me . . . please . . . that you’ll always be with me,” he muttered almost too softly.
There were tears rolling down Jaejoong’s cheeks and there was Kannei already wiping away his cries with her tissues. “Don’t worry,” she kept chanting. “I’ll be there just like you’d be there for me, right?”
Jaejoong just chuckled while bobbing his head up and down. “You’re all that’s important in my life,” he admitted. “I think . . . you give me meaning to living. I . . . never knew how lonely I actually was until I met you.”
He hadn’t realized how heavy his words sounded to Kannei, who still wore a weak grin. He just relaxed in this moment of silence. She was there, and he’d finally have a place for himself.
-----
Everyone knew that the time would come for Yoochun to leave. They just didn’t want to speak of it. They simply carried on with their daily responsibilities. There was not much to say when a decision had been made. It wasn’t as if the boys hadn’t tried to dissuade Yoochun.
Jaejoong was the first to argue, “You can’t just leave like that! You’re being a player on your friends! That ain’t cool!”
“Yeah!” Junsu then added. “How can you make a decision without our input?”
Rhett harked back, “Yoochun, are you sure you want to do this? Have you thought it through?”
“Screw it,” Changmin impatiently uttered. “Do whatever you want. Just don’t come back home sobbing like some broken-hearted chick.”
None of them wanted him to leave, yet none of them felt ready to accept a stranger into their household, a stranger who happened to be a child. Children needed attention and care. They weren’t prepared to be fathers yet. Yoochun who seemed the least likely to settle down, was the first to be on his way to parenthood.
None of them had also expected him to depart so quickly. They didn’t even ask any questions. They just helped him pack his belongings into cardboard boxes and then moved those into his car. Actually, not all of them assisted him. Jaejoong refused to lend a hand to a traitor; he needed some time to calm down. Changmin occasionally lifted a few boxes before asking Yoochun for food. Only Junsu and Rhett were truly cooperative.
The question that all of them wanted to ask: Where was Yoochun living? They never posed such a question in fear of seeming desperate for him to stay. Yoochun was old enough to choose what he wanted to do with his life. It was his life. When the day came for Yoochun to transport all of his left-over belongings to his new place, all of the boys finally agreed to join him. Jaejoong claimed that he merely wanted to see Yoochun’s residence. Changmin said that he wanted to go for a drive. Rhett uttered that Yoochun probably needed an extra car to store everything. Lastly, Junsu stated that if everyone was going, then he would certainly have to tag along.
When everyone, including Sanghyun, arrived at Yoochun’s place, they were completely shocked. They knew this house. All of the boys had been here on many occasions before Yoochun severed his relations with his family. It was ironic then, for Yoochun to return to where he had departed. Yoochun was going to be living at his grandmother’s house.
“Yoochun,” Rhett announced as he stepped out of his car, “I thought you said you’d never come back here. Are you sure this is the place?”
Yoochun nodded, answering, “You followed my car here, so yes, this is where I’ll be living with Sanghyun.”
Junsu blurted, “Why here?”
“This is the best place to raise a kid,” Yoochun explained. “I’ve thought about this carefully. I have work and my grandmother doesn’t. I’ve told her everything and she has agreed to look after Sanghyun when I’m busy.”
“I thought you and your family . . . you know . . .” Jaejoong signaled the sign of death by running his index finger along his neck.
Yoochun answered with a chuckle, “Yeah, it’s still like that, but it’ll be okay. They just think I’m . . .”
“You’re irresponsible?” Changmin interrupted. “Carefree? Aimless? Unfaithful?”
“Thanks.”
He slapped Changmin’s back as they proceeded with his moving. Still, they couldn’t stop feeling uneasy or queasy. Every item that was being carried meant that Yoochun was closer to departing. Farewells were never painless; it was more difficult for them since they couldn’t admit that.
“Hey,” Yoochun asked before all of them left, “I can drop by any time right?”
“Why the hell are you even asking that type of question?” Jaejoong screamed. “You’re supposed to visit us!”
“You’re not really gonna live with your family forever right?” Changmin raised his eyebrow to pose.
Rhett added, “Yoochun, you’re always welcome back. That empty room of yours will always be yours.”
“Aw man,” Junsu moped. “I wanted to have a gaming room!” Everyone glared at him, except for Yoochun, who laughed at his joke. “I was just kidding!” Junsu professed.
This would be a short journey, a departure from their road together, the four boys thought on their way home. That was all.

Chapter 52: The Leader Seals His Fate
Rhett checked his watch while waiting for the elevator. He was a few minutes early, and so he cleared his throat and inhaled a few deep breaths. There was nothing to fear. He was just doing what was right. Staring ahead, he saw his blurred reflection. His figure and features had been completely blemished; he couldn’t even recognize himself anymore. This was him now. As the elevator doors opened, he casually stepped in, maintaining his confidence.

Chapter 51: The Hidden Devil’s Plan Backfires
There was only one word capable of summarizing Changmin’s state: unlucky. Even with all his praying and his preparing, there were still uncontrollable aspects that terminated his plan. He hadn’t considered a child being in his care and that child happened to be Sanghyun. When Changmin had first seen Sanghyun, Changmin knew that this kid was up to no good. This child was probably the carrier of misfortune.

Chapter 50: The Leader Tries to Forget
Before Rhett had to face his uncle, he had already scheduled a date with Kannei. She had wanted to watch this movie that Jaejoong had recommended to her, and so, Rhett had agreed to take her there. This was perfect for him to relieve his stress, and just to forget about everything. He would tell her later on, after this already planned meeting. Being with her, somehow, brightened his spirits. Now, usually, people greeted one another with a wave, a hello, a hi, a hey, a bow or courtesy, or even a hug. However, the first thing that Kannei said to Rhett, who was approaching her with a friendly wave, was achoo. She had sneezed, almost on him, but hadn’t thanks to his fast reflexes. Rhett had managed to dodge her attack by taking a leap to his right.

Chapter 49: The Mom Comforts the Queen of Spontaneity and the Free Spirit Returns to His Past
Like the movies, Kannei had requested for a long drive to nowhere, and Jaejoong happened to be the one who fulfilled her wish. He drove out of the city, and to the suburbs. The car ride was absent of any conversation. Jaejoong focused on his driving, afraid to bother Kannei, while Kannei blankly gazed out the window, pretending to admire the picturesque scenery. Spectators would have believed that this was a couple suffering from an argument, but both of them knew that this was just a simple moment of silence. There was no need for chattering.

Chapter 48: The Hidden Devil Notifies the Innocent Boy and the Leader Battles Forward
There was typically no one who visited Junsu during work unless he or she was hoping for a free meal. Thus, when Changmin arrived at the restaurant, Junsu first greeted, “No free lunches, okay? We’re going to go bankrupt if I keep giving you food at no cost. The last time I did that for you, my dad went crazy, saying how there’s a recession so we shouldn’t—“

Chapter 47: The Free Spirit Spies
Yoochun had been visiting Junghwa at the hospital whenever he could. He was worried for her safety and for her health. Even though Junghwa had only asked Yoochun to take care of her son, he felt that that was not enough. He felt useless, letting her solve the problem alone. Still, he couldn’t even help her if she refused to talk about the incident. The days, thus, passed until Junghwa was released from the hospital.

Chapter 1: Loneliness
People have said that patience was a virtue, but I was never a person of virtue. Rather, I believed that precision was an opportunity. There was a place and a time for everything. Now, the problem was finding that exact moment and then executing it as planned. There was only so much an excavator could do, yet there was just too much a constructor could make. As for me, a participator?

            I just waited.

Chapter 46: The Hidden Devil Is Threatened and the Leader and the Queen of Spontaneity Shop
Changmin never expected to be blackmailed over email. He had accidentally clicked on an email of what he believed to be spam, and luckily, it wasn’t. Unfortunately, it was an anonymous, menacing note.
I know what you did that night and I have pictures.
If you don’t want anyone to know about them, come to the roof top today after school.

I pushed my horse to gallop forth with all my might, but an arrow had struck the horse’s leg, forcing me crash to my side. Without thinking, I ran ahead, only to land right at someone’s feet.
“Why, what do we have here? My dear sister.”
I gulped upon hearing that voice. My eyes scrolled upwards, but it was not before long that he had lowered to my level, staring at my soil ridden face. He placed his hand on my head, squeezing it too firmly.

“Run! Run! Run!” Morganne kept shouting.

When there were tens and maybe hundreds of arrows flying in our direction, it was inevitable for us to run. How? How could this have happened to us? If we were to rewind, we should have known that there would be an ambush.

I was born when my mother fought with my father. She was so mad that she split my soul to two, and there was me, and my sister, Terra, the Earth Goddess. I inherited my mother’s happiness, and my sister, my mother’s fury. We are different, too different. Terra likes to stay, while I like to be free.

Chapter 45: The Lonely Woman Explains and the Innocent Boy Takes the Little Boy to Work
In the hostile, dark hospital room, there was a frail lady still unconscious, and there was a fretful man still waiting for her to be conscious. He sat in a stool placed beside her bed and he just watched her. Her face was colourless, drained of life, and emaciated, plagued with fatigue. Her eyes were firmly shut. Her body was completely still, compelling him to focus on her breathing. Every breath meant that she was still alive and just asleep. Regardless of how exhausted he was, he kept his eyes and ears open.

            Frigid. Cutting. Numbing. Glacial.
I could have listed all of the synonyms I knew to describe my appalling conditions, yet among this dreadfulness, there was still loveliness. Although my eyes were blurred from the goggles, I could still discern the countless pebbles scattered along the floor, and the titanic ice blocks that surrounded me. Swimming forward, I saw a stone coffin elaborately carved to resemble the figure of a Tsar. The lid of the coffin was open from Morganne’s doing, so all I had to do was retrieve the other sheets of gold slates. When my hand reached for a target, I felt that I had grabbed a hand. I almost choked on water after realizing that I had touched a corpse. However, I recognized that I had to remain calm. I had to depend on myself.

Chapter 44: The Leader Is Helpful and the Free Spirit Is There
Rhett waited in the car for Kannei to come from her club’s meeting. He had promised to drive her to the super market to pick up some groceries. This gesture was supposed to redeem a fairly old, two slaps from her list. He also wanted to buy some vegetables, fruits, and meat for Jaejoong to cook. Jaejoong had been complaining about how poorly stocked the boys were in terms of food and how he never had the chance to shop for groceries due to his long hours of work. No one really paid attention to Jaejoong’s complaints, except for Rhett, who felt somewhat guilty for eating midnight snacks with Changmin.

          I gasped.
My body was buried under layers and layers of blankets that I could barely adjust my head. “Wh—“
I was cut off by Morganne, who shrilled, “You imbecile! You almost murdered yourself and Tsarevich Hendrick!”
I didn’t understand what was happening, but fortunately, Nestor explained, “His Highness slipped while searching for people to rescue you and he received a large cut on his knee.”

Chapter 43: The Mom Quits and the Leader Meets with his Previous Followers
Jaejoong couldn’t believe his bad luck. First, he was being followed by paparazzi everywhere. Somehow, the paparazzi had gotten interested in his relationship with Yumi. Yumi's popularity was escalating after she sang for the ending song of a popular anime series, and took on the role for another popular manga adaption for a drama. Second, he had to agree to work for Yumi, who was clearly blackmailing him. Now, he had to deal with Changmin’s frustrating request.

Hendrick was a boy who knew of no limits. It was obvious that he was abusing the power associated with his status. No one dared to defy him although it was clear too that there were plans to overthrow him. I was sure too that he knew of his date of expiration. As soon as the days of mourning ended, he would be usurped. Who would have wanted a frail, young boy as a ruler? Who would have listened to a child’s advice?

Chapter 42: The Femme Fatale Plays with the Hidden Devil and the Nerdy Girl is Worried.
Amazingly, Naomi did nothing unusual throughout the day. Changmin was able to relax for once, but he recognized that tranquility was the precursor of chaos. There would be a night of terror. He knew that once he heard the shutting sound of the hotel room’s door that would signal the end of peace.

Recently, I received a question about my thoughts after using other websites and blogging as a writer, so I thought I'd dedicate an entry about this, in case other people are wondering as well.

I've been focusing my attention on revising lately, so I haven't really updated on other sites. Before I started to revise though, I experimented with other websites other than soompi and fictionpress/fanfiction.net. I used to only know about these places to upload my stories. After all, a close friend of mine had told me those were the websites to post stories. Now, after trying out different websites, I think I enjoy blogging the most. I'll first give my thoughts on other websites, and then explain why I prefer blogging the most.

Whoever said that children were the essence of innocence and goodness ought to be wrong, or it might have been that he or she had never encountered a particular child, the one and only Hendrick Vyacheslav. He was too disorderly to have been a victim. I did notice, though, that there seemed to be guards everywhere watching our movements. I could sense their peering eyes and as usual, Lady Fenov monitored us. As for Hendrick, he would order demands at me without even uttering a word. He would point or gesticulate to express his wishes and I would attempt to interpret them by asking him questions to which he would reply with a nod or a shake.

Chapter 41: The Hidden Devil Supervises a School Field Trip and the Leader Confronts the Ideal Girl
No matter how much Changmin detested school field trips, he still had to plan at least a couple of them each year. Field trips were supposed to bring a different learning experience for students. That, to Changmin, was nothing but a lie. Bullshit. For Changmin, field trips meant responsibility. He had to plan for everything and care for everyone. Just when he thought he had lucked out since Ken had agreed to plan the three-day field trip for both of their classes, Ken had become ill the day of the trip. The only substitute was Naomi. Changmin was never before a believer in religion, but after this situation, he was proselytized. There were probably gods, who enjoyed wreaking havoc with people’s lives, and in this case, his life. Perhaps, this was karma, Changmin pondered. This was for nonchalance.

Chapter 40: The Free Spirit Discusses with the Lonely Woman and the Mom is Bombarded by Tabloids

After Yoochun had finished his job for Junsu, he fled earlier from the scene with Sanghyun by his side. Sanghyun was also there to help, but Changmin didn’t even ask why there was a child. There were some things that even Changmin wouldn’t ask about and this was one of them. Moreover, he was too busy cursing at his poor luck, while Yoochun had to make sure Sanghyun didn’t hear those swear words. Who wanted another Changmin?

Enraged would have been the exact word to describe Nestor’s mood. We were behind schedule and we were not even acting according to his scheme.
He had first frowned. “Your hand.” After the three of us had arrived at Nestor’s chamber, Morganne had shared her idea with him. Just as we had expected, he had grumbled, “You do understand how preposterous this sounds?”

Chapter 39: The Mom and the Child Drink Together and The Innocent Boy Experiences a Splendid Dinner
Dinner must have been replaced by alcohol, specifically, vodka. Jaejoong and Yumi ate in a corner table concealed by long, silk drapes. There wasn’t much to hide though for they dined in silence. There wasn’t much to say between the two of them. It wasn’t until Yumi had accidentally spilled her glass of vodka onto the table did Jaejoong mutter, “Look at you. So careless.”

Although we were pressed for time, Morganne had still explained why the Book of Winds was treated as the Royal Papers of Slianvwi. In essence, the first entry dictated the origins of Slianvwi and also how the first King arose from his nation. Before I could inquire more, she had snapped, “You will learn more from Nestor. Now, we must quicken our steps.”

Chapter 38: The Continuation of the Double Date
Lunch was supposed to be a blessing for Kannei and Rhett since all they had to do was eat. However, they never anticipated to encounter so many troubles and most of them originated from Kannei and her list of pet peeves and dislikes. “No, I don’t want to eat burgers with onions and tomatoes,” she groaned at Rhett’s suggestion. “I don’t feel like eating burgers at all. We just had a roller coaster ride and eating those would make me vomit. Do you honestly want me to throw up?”
“All right, all right,” he huffed. “What do you want to eat then?”

It was daunting to enter the village centre by myself. I scanned the area, trying to recall the images of this vibrant city. I thought I would be able to see people trading at the markets or buying goods for their family or even kids dashing through the streets. Instead, I had caught the stares of ravenous and fatigued women, distressed sellers and of young peddlers. Although it would have been expected for the streets to be vacant, people still began to prepare for work when the sun rose. This ominous atmosphere should not have existed; every sunrise should have been a new beginning. That was, though, merely an old saying that reflected the optimism of the citizens. Where was this optimism then? I felt that death had stampeded its way through this city, but how? How could this sort of deterioration have occurred so quickly?

It was not long before I received an owl. What I meant was that an owl had repeatedly used its beak to knock on my bedroom window. At first, I had ignored this pesky creature, but once I saw what was attached to its left foot, a scroll tucked in a bottle, I knew I had to welcome this owl. Calla was by my side again, and she had hopped from where she had been sitting to examine what I had obtained.

Chapter 37: The Free Spirit Protects the Little Boy and the Mom is Enraged
It had become a routine for Yoochun to take care of Sanghyun. Yoochun would pick him up from pre-school, and babysit him until Junghwa came home. During the weekend, Yoochun would spend a day to teach Sanghyun piano. Yoochun would again select a day where no one was at home. He wasn’t ready to explain everything to the boys for now. He and Sanghyun also lied to Junghwa that they just played games with Junsu’s consoles. Well, occasionally, they would do that during piano breaks.

I didn’t think I had to worry these days. There was a moment of celebration flourishing throughout the palace because there would soon be a wedding. The date of Theo and Verrill’s wedding had been set. They would wed when spring blossomed to summer. With a limited amount of freedom left, Theo had proudly informed me, “I must frolic as much as possible and I believe you are in need of a frolic.”

Chapter 36: The Double Date
This double date was truly the test to pass for Kannei and Rhett. This would prove that they were supposedly a couple. Moreover, they felt obliged to help Junsu. Junsu was such a perfect boyfriend that Kannei believed that she had to support his cause, while Rhett believed that friends were supposed to support each other. The two of them had arrived in front of the entrance of the amusement park before the other couple. This was perhaps their only moment of rest.

What’s a real friend? What’s a fake friend? Honestly, these days, I don’t know. Sometimes, I think this person is okay, and that we’re just casual friends, yet somehow, I realize that that person doesn’t even treat me as a friend or maybe, even like me. That makes me think . . . did I do something wrong to enrage that person or was I stupid to think that we were even friends?

“You are awake.” I heard an apprehensive, yet affectionate voice.
I felt droplets of water trickling on my face and strands of long hair prodding my eyes.  I struggled to open them, and as he moved away from me, I saw a drenched, almost half-naked man gawking at me. His almond eyes were perpetually cobalt, reminding me of a summer’s beach, and his prominent nose was situated symmetrically to serve as the perfect border between his eyes. What complimented his voice was his lightly tanned and angular face, which revealed his strong jaw.

Chapter 35: The Hidden Devil is an Excellent Teacher and the Mom takes the Queen of Spontaneity to the Child’s Fan Signing
Changmin had no clue why he even bothered helping her. He suspected that in his previous life, he had committed too many sinful acts, so this was his way of compensating for his past actions, this being finding classmates to help Shiori plan for the class’ booth at the Spring Festival. He managed to convince two of his fans to come to the meetings and a keen, studious girl, who wanted bonus marks, to join.

Chapter 34: The Innocent Boy has a Plan for the Innocent Girl’s Birthday and the Free Spirit Takes the Little Boy on a Little Adventure
Thank god for the advancement in cell phone technology, Junsu thought as he wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead. With the restaurant busily catering to wedding couples, he barely had any time to go out with Naomi. Even phone calls were short and text messages were only longer before he went to bed. It was conceivable then for Junsu to forget about days and also about her birthday. Being a good chap, he always had a habit of storing people’s birthdays in his cell phone after acquiring their phone numbers. That was precisely why he thanked his cell phone. It just reminded him of Naomi’s birthday that was coming up next week.

I spent the days gazing at the view outside of my bedroom window, thinking and pondering about all of the events that had happened. Even Calla had grown impatient with my contemplation, and so I allowed her to do as she wished. I didn’t have time to babysit another.
No matter how long I had thought, I always seemed to return to one notion. This was the Oracle’s last words before her death. She had spoken of my dreams, and of a book, the Book of Winds. Was this book related to what she said about the truth? Was this then my next step? I wrapped my arms around my knees, considering what should be done. I was so deep in thought that I hadn’t heard a knock and even the sound of the door opening.
